Biography
AyÅŸe Soysal completed his doctoral studies in 1976 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She became the first Turkish woman to receive the Betsy Barbour Award, a prestigious scholarship given to Asian women who did her doctorate at the University of Michigan during her studies. After completing his doctorate, he returned to Bogazici University in 1976 and joined the Department of Mathematics. He became associate professor in the field of algebra and number theory in 1981 and professor in 1991. AyÅŸe Soysal worked as a dean at the Bogazici University between 1984-1988, as the Head of the Mathematics Department between 1991-1992 and at the University Rector as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Letters until 2004. She was the first woman to be appointed to the Rectorate of BoÄŸaziçi University between 2004-2008.
Research Interest
Ayse Soysal has taught in a wide variety of festivals; Topics include group theory, ring and objects, vector spaces and modules, topology, algebraic topology, group cohomology, differential equations, linear algebra, matrix theory, real analysis, complex analysis, probability theory, committive algebra, geometric algebra and group representations .
