Biography
İlhan Tomanbay, Prof. Dr. İskenderun (Hatay) was born (April 21, 1948). He graduated from the Social Services Academy of the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance (1971). Eight years, he worked as a training specialist in the General-İş Trade Union affiliated to Turk-Is (later DİSK) (April 1972-August 1979). He went to F. Germany where he went as a scholarship trainee to trade unionism; (1974-1975), he wrote articles on practical work on our overseas workers and their families. In F. Germany, where he remained until his admission, he worked as a youth social worker in a growing country (1975-1976). In the same year, he left the union for a return from Germany (August), and since 1972 he has taken the examination of the Social Services Academy under the roof of Hacettepe University. Won. With the 1983 regulation, the status of the school changed and he continued his education as Hacettepe University Social Services College under the Rector's Office. (July 1979). In the same year he entered the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University (1987-1981). In the same department, he started his doctorate by earning his PhD qualification, but decided to do his doctor abroad on September 12, 1990, when the military coup ended the Chair of Social Policy. In 1985 he invited as a guest lecturer at the School of Social Work and Social Education (Alice Salomon Fachhochschule für Sozialarbeit / Sozialpädagogik) gave various courses (1985 Fall - 1988 Fall). Meanwhile, Friedrich Ebert (Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung) and Hans Böckler foundations (Hans-Böckler-Stiftung) received doctoral scholarships. He received a Ph.D. in Friedrich Ebert Foundation scholarship (1987-June 1990) at the Department of Social Education and Social Work at the Technical University of Berlin (Technische Universität, Berlin, Fachbereich für Erziehungswissenschaften, Abteilung Sozialpädagogik / Sozialarbeit). In 1991, he returned to Turkey and started working again in Hacettepe University Social Services College in the fall term. He received his associate professor degree in social work (1993) and his associate professor (1995). He was appointed professor at Hacettepe University Social Services College (1999). He established Akdeniz University Social Services Education, Research and Application Center (AKSUM) at Akdeniz University (Antalya) where he went to temporary position in 1997 upon agreement reached between the rectors. he served two years as a director (1998-2000). The opening of the University of the Mediterranean has returned because the Social Work and Social Services Department has not been established. Hacettepe University was appointed as Vice Principal of Ankara Vocational College (2000-2002). Later, he worked as a manager in the same school until 2009. In order to put an end to the confusion of service and learning, Ankara Technical Vocational School has left its technical programs and contributed to the structuring of Polatlı Technical Sciences Vocational School and the name of Ankara Vocational School was changed to Vocational School of Social Sciences. During this period, he worked as the director of Polatlı Vocational School for a certain period of time. He changed the status of Hacettepe University School of Social Work, which he continuously worked in, and gave support to the University Senate to be affiliated to Hacettepe University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences as social services department (2005-2006). He retired on April 21, 2015, ending his legal public service term. He is currently working at the Department of Social Services at the Faculty of Health Sciences at İstinye University.
