Biography
After completing his undergraduate studies at Mimar Sinan University (MSÜ), Faculty of Architecture, Department of City and Regional Planning in 1992, he started to work as a Research Assistant in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the same year. In 1994, he completed his Master's degree in Urban Design at the MSU Institute of Science. He carried out projects in the fields of planning and design between 1998-2013. In 2012, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSÜ), where he lectured as a lecturer, completed his PhD on "Urban Change and Transformation". Melih Birik served as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of Kırklareli University, where he was appointed as a Founding Instructor in 2013, and served as the Head of Department at the City and Regional Planning Department until 2016.
