Biography
He was born in Ankara in 1943. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language and History-Geography, Turkish Language and Literature Department in 1965, After graduation, he worked as a librarian in Ankara in the National Library for a short while at the Department of Turkish Works of Old Letters. In 1966, he won a doctoral scholarship from the Ministry of National Education, and from 1966 to 1969 he received his doctorate from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland on behalf of the Ministry. In the United States, she studied Turkish Language and Literature as a guest lecturer in the Near East Studies Department of the University of California for one year. After returning to Turkey in 1970, he briefly taught Turkish language to foreign students in Middle East Technical University. In the same year he was appointed as a doctoral assistant at Ankara University, Faculty of Language and History-Geography, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. In 1976 he earned associate professor titles and payesini. Between 1970 and 1982, he worked as a doctoral assistant and associate professor in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Language and History-Geography for twelve years. Shortly after entering into force, the YOK law came to Adana in late 1982 and served as the founding chief of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Science and Letters of the University of Cukurova. In 1985 he was appointed professor at the same faculty. For twenty years, he served as a department and lecturer of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Science and Literature, which he continued until the beginning of 2002-2003 academic year. the faculty board and board members, the Turkish Language Department affiliated to the Rector of Çukurova University, the founding head departments of the Atatürk Principles and History of Revolution Department, and the Directorate of the Institute of Atatürk Principles and History of Research on the History of the Turkish Revolution. While serving in the Faculty of Science and Letters, he also served as a member of faculties and administrative boards of the faculties of the Faculty of Education and Theology of Çukurova University. In addition to his lectures in the Faculty of Science and Letters, he also taught Turkish Language in the Faculty of Education and Turkish Culture History in the Faculty of Theology. He worked at the boards of Cukurova University Social Sciences Institute. In 2002-2003 academic year, he lectured as a guest lecturer in the Turkish Language and Literature Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus. After returning to the position of Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Science and Letters of Çukurova University in the summer of 2003, He continued his retirement until the end of August 2010. Professor Dr. Mine Mengi's specialty is Old Turkish Literature, which has published books, articles and other scientific studies in this area.
