Biography

orn in Ankara, grown up as a member of the last generation of children playing in the street. Fascinated by the visual, he began his journey to the house of design with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design received from METU. Always keen to cross disciplines and boundaries, he then went on to span a wider spectrum of design and materiality, from media arts to visual communication design, material culture and interior design. Collector and picker of things once manufactured and lovingly used by humankind, he is an admirer of the vanity of human wishes and their material manifestations. His PhD in Visual and Cultural Studies, received from Bilkent University is to blame for his academic curiosities so far. It was a Nietzschean and Foucauldian inquiry into the history of design and its claim to power and truth. It is a never-ending story.
