Canan Atalay

Biography

Canan Atalay, graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting Department in 1989 and she completed her MA degree in 1992; Proficiency in Art degree in 2001 at the same department. She also received a Masters degree in 1995, from University of Wales Institute of Cardiff School of Arts & Design Ceramics Department, where graduated with MPhil degree in 2003. She became Associate Professor in 2004. Her works have been exhibited in many group exhibitions in Russia, England, Morocco, USA, Germany, Korea and Turkey. Two of them being abroad, she opened seventeen solo exhibitions. Her works are present in several museums and collections. Having received six other prizes, she was granted the “Artist of Distinction Prize” by the Turkish Art Foundation in 2008. She currently works at the Ceramics Department of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Faculty of Fine Arts.
