Biography
Dr. Murat Åžensoy received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering in 2001 from BoÄŸaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey. He received his M.S. degree in 2004 and Ph.D. degree in 2008, both in Computer Engineering from the same university. Shortly after completing his Ph.D, he joined the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK as a research fellow where he made significant contributions to network and information sciences projects funded by the US Department of Defense (DoD) and the UK Ministry of Defence(MoD). Dr. Åžensoy has visited Carnegie Melon University (CMU), US Army Research Laboratory (ARL), and IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. He developed semantic reasoning mechanisms for sensor networks, which are currently used by ARL and IBM. His research interests include Web Intelligence, Semantic Web, Trust/Reputation, and Multiagent Systems. In these areas, he has published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers. Following his joining to ÖzyeÄŸin University, the University of Aberdeen awarded him an honorary assistant professorship position.
