Biography
Dr. Mana Ece Tuna received her BS degree in 1994 and her MS degree in 1997 from Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Educational Sciences, Guidance and Psychological Counseling (GPC) Program. In 2000-2001 academic years, she was at the University of Notre Dame, Department of Psychology as a visiting scholar for carrying out the certain parts of her dissertation with a grant from Turkish Academy of Sciences. In 2003, she got her Ph.D. titled as “Cross-Cultural Differences in Coping Strategies as the Predictors of University Adjustment of Turkish and U.S. Students” from GPC Program at METU. Dr. Tuna worked as an assistant professor at Abant İzzet Baysal University, Department Educational Sciences, GPC Program between 2007 and 2012. In these years, she thought courses on theories of personality, theories of counseling, ethics in counseling, marriage and family counseling both in graduate and undergraduate levels.
Research Interest
Dr. Tuna’s main research interests are optimism, adjustment, coping, curiosity, mindfulness, relationship between institutional integration and academic motivation.
