Biography
Dr. Özgür UÄŸraÅŸ Baran has received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University. He has received his Master’s degree in the same department, while he was working as a research assistant at the Hydraulics Laboratory. He started his Ph.D. studies from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, while he was working as a researcher at Numeca International, a leading software developer and solution provider on CFD solutions. After receiving his Ph.D. degree, Dr. Baran has returned to Turkey and started working for Turkish Defense Industry. He had the chance to work for HAVELSAN A.Åž., where he worked primarily on the HELSIM project, which is the first full scale helicopter simulator project to the date. Then he joined to TÜBÄ°TAK/ SAGE to work for aerodynamic design of missiles. He had the chance to complete design of several missiles at this period.
Research Interest
Main research interests of Dr. Baran include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technologies, Aerodynamic Design Optimization, Aircraft Store Integration.
