Oleksander Plotnikov

Biography

EDUCATION: National Yaroslav Mudry Law Academy of Ukraine EXPERIENCE: Oleksander joined Arzinger in 2010 as a Senior Associate and in April 2012 was promoted to the position of Counsel. Today he is a Partner, head of Banking & Finance and Personal Data Protection practices. Oleksander consults Ukrainian and foreign banks on a wide range of issues relating to banking activity in Ukraine and provision of financial services, and advises large Ukrainian companies on issues connected with their cooperation with Ukrainian and foreign banks. Besides, Oleksander consults clients on foreign investment and currency control issues. Oleksander has vast experience in the sphere of corporate law and M&A. He provided legal support for share issues of insurance companies and banks and issuance of municipal bonds and corporate bonds by financial, agricultural and retail companies. Oleksander has been practicing law since 2001. Before joining Arzinger he was working for 5 years as an in-house lawyer for head offices of leading Ukrainian banks with foreign capital: UkrSibbank PJSC (BNP Paribas Group) and Calyon Bank Ukraine JSC (Credit Agricole Group). Oleksander Plotnikov features in the Banking, finance and capital markets chapter of The Legal 500 - Europe, Middle East & Africa 2013 guide. He is described as ‘diligent, detailed and very pleasant’. He made to the 300 short-list of lawyers and the list of nominees to TOP-100 lawyers in Ukraine within the legal market research Client Choice 2012-2013. Member of the Advisory Board at the Committee for Creditors’ Rights Protection of the National Association of Ukrainian Banks (NAUB).
