Biography
Oleksandr Savchenko served as Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (1991 to 1992); Executive Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), London (1993 to 1996); Adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine as a public service (1996 to 1997); Chairman of the Board of Bank Austria Kreditanstalt Ukraine (1997 to 1999); Chairman of the Board of the International Commerce Bank Joint-Stock Company (1999 to 2005); Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (2005 to 09/25/2009); and Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine (09/28/2009 to 03/11/2010). Dr. Savchenko is an author (or coauthor) of four monographs and more than 160 papers in Economics and Banking. Author of Balance Sheet of Independence and Chronicle of Economic Reforms (1998 to 2005).
