Biography
Chris Norval is the founder and executive chairman of Green Gas International , and oversees its financial activities. For many years, he held senior management positions in the global resources sector. Prior to joining Green Gas, Chris served as CEO and President of SUAL, the world's largest aluminum and alumina producer. A significant part of his career, Chris Norval dedicated to the construction of the company , which is currently known as BHP Billiton. As head of corporate finance, he was responsible for most of the transactions for the creation of BHP Billiton , including Billiton Plc's IPO in 1997. His ability to create and manage corporate strategies was " honed" in Billiton Plc and its predecessor, Gencor. He was in charge of BHP Billiton's strategy before leaving the company in July 2002. In Billiton Plc, Chris also headed BCAP , where he gained experience in corporate venture finance , innovation and new business development. He carried out the plan , negotiated and managed the merger of two non-core business lines of metal for sale , owned by Alcoa and Billiton's , to create Integris Metals Inc., which later became the biggest seller in the US specialty metals. Chris has the degree of B. Com. ( Hons) ( Baccalaureus Commercii Cum Honoribus) at Rand Afrikaans University ( Johannesburg , South Africa), and is a Certified Public Accountant - CA ( SA). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Accountants of South Africa. Mr. Norval's responsibilities include: industry expertise , best world practices in production and management. In addition , he is responsible for international contacts.
