Biography
He was born in 1945 in Warwick , England. Stewart holds a bachelor's degree in metallurgy from the University of Nottingham. It is also a member of the Institute of Mining , Metallurgy and minerals ( Institute of Mining , Metallurgy and Minerals) and Honor member Management Institute ( Institute of Management). Stewart began his career in the steel industry in the UK in 1963 as a manager trainee and subsequently held various management positions until 1997 , when he was appointed CEO and president of the Swedish company Avesta Sheffield, a stainless steel producer headquartered in Stockholm . In 2002 , after the merger of Avesta Sheffield with Outokumpu , he became Deputy General Manager of Avesta Polarit. In 2001, Stewart returned to the UK , where he managed the flat rolling direction of the Corus Group , later he also became a member of the Board of this company. In 2005, he served as chief executive officer. Mr. Pettifor is an expert in the field of best world practices of production and management. In addition , his responsibilities include industry expertise and international contacts. Mr. Pettifor is the Chairman of the Committee for Industrial Safety and Ecology and is a member of the Strategy and Investments Committee of the Metinvest BV Supervisory Board
