Biography
Shtets Viktoriia is a highly qualified climate change expert of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. She has a solid knowledge in the field of sustainable development, risk management and climate change, particularly in adaptation, technology transfer and capacity building. Furthermore she has extensive experience on Kyoto Protocol flexible mechanisms and climate change policy-making on an international and national level. Ms. Shtets is competent climate negotiator and member of Ukrainian delegation at UNFCCC sessions since preparations for the COP 16/CMP 6 in Cancun. She is responsible for international issues related to multilateral environmental agreements and involved in preparing analytical notes, reports, summaries of meetings and policy statements, submissions, speeches, briefing notes and other inputs, including for senior staff as well as in development of drafts of international agreements/memorandums with international organizations and their country offices in Ukraine. Moreover during last 5 years she as a representative of government actively works with different international and regional donors and technical assistance projects such as USAID, UNDP, UNIDO, UNEP, EBRD, ClimaEast etc. On COP 19 in Warsaw in the end of 2013 Ms. Shtets was selected as a Member of Technology Executive Committee under UNFCCC and took part in taskforces on adaptation, finance and Technology Needs Assessment (TNA).
