Biography
Dr. Hernandez-Chaple is employed by Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Miami Children’s Health System. He is a child and adolescent psychiatrist within the Department of Pediatric Psychiatry at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Hernandez-Chaple earned his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. He then completed a residency in psychiatry at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. His clinical interests include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Tourette syndrome and schizophrenia. Dr. Hernandez-Chaple is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Dr. Hernandez-Chaple sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
