Biography
Dr. Calderón is employed by Pediatric Specialists of America (PSA), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Miami Children’s Health System. He is a pediatric allergist & immunologist within the Division of Allergy & Immunology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Calderón earned his medical degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander Escuela de Medicina in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He then completed a residency in pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, followed by a fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at the Yale School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. His clinical interests include, food allergies, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, asthma, urticaria and angioedema, drug allergies, insect allergies, anaphylaxis, hereditary angioedema, mastocytosis and immunodeficiency. Dr. Calderón is board certified in allergy and clinical immunology. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI). Dr. Calderón has participated in community service initiatives including Connecticut’s statewide Asthma Task Force and as an advisor to the City of New Haven’s School Asthma Initiative for the Department of Health. He also served as a member of Yale-New Haven Hospital’s Pediatric Asthma Committee and as an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has presented at national conferences. Dr. Calderón sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
