W. Christian Bauer

Biography

 Dr. Bauer joined Miami Children's Hospital in 1983. He is actively involved in the anesthesia for the Craniofacial and Cardiac procedures. Dr. Bauer received his medical degree from the Universidad Javeriana School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He began his medical training with a rotating internship at San Ignacio University Hospital, Bogota, Colombia; a general practice at The Amazon Regional Hospital, Leticia, Amazonas, Colombia; and a residency in anesthesiology at San Ignacio University Hospital. He then went on to be the attending anesthesiologist for the National Cancer Institute, Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Bauer came to the USA and did a pediatric internship at Miami Children’s Hospital (formerly Variety Children’s Hospital). He went to Jackson Memorial Hospital for further training in anesthesia to then return to Miami Children’s Hospital in 1983. Dr. Bauer received the Robert D. Dripps Memorial Award for excellence in Anesthesia and he is a board certified anesthesiologist.
