Biography

I studied at the University of Edinburgh for my PhD in chemistry in 2001 before helping to start Lab901 (Scottish SME) where I was Product Development Manager responsible for developing the TapeStation and ScreenTape technologies from concept to market success. Lab901 was acquired by Agilent Technologies (US multinational)  in 2011 where I became R&D Director for the Microfluidics Business taking responsibility for setting the R&D strategy and leading the team through tremendous business growth. My principle roles have been in R&D but the journey form start-up to multinational has given me a breadth of experience in business operations, financial planning, intellectual property, and quality/compliance.
