Bruno Walther

Biography

Professor Walther is a seasoned surgeon at Skåne University hospital in Lund, Sweden. He is specialised in tumor surgery of the esophagus and stomach and was trained in esophageal surgery by late Professor David B. Skinner in Chicago. Professor Walther has produced 153 surgical publications and 15 videos of different surgical procedures in the upper GI tract often featured in the American College of Surgeons annual congresses. Professor Walther is author of 16 chapters in surgical textbooks on the subject. He has supervised four surgeons to doctoral theses and been opponent in seven dissertations. He is member of the board of European Surgical Association (ESA) since 2010.
