Biography

As a child, instead of playing "house" with my siblings like normal kids, we played "bank". This started my passion for the banking profession and I knew from a young age that I was born to be a banker. I graduated with a BSc in Management Science. From there, I started work at HSBC in Egypt in the Personal Financial Service. After a few years, I moved to Citibank Abu Dhabi. After this move, I decided I wanted to go even further in my career and decided to join Emirates NBD as a Relationship Manager in the Priority Banking division which targets high income and VIP clients. 6 years down the road and I am now a Cluster Manager in charge of a team of Relationship Managers for a specific market. My job at the moment is to make sure my team achieves their revenue targets with my guidance and expertise. It is a tough task to keep up the team spirit and to make sure everyone is pulling their weight but it is very rewarding for me to see progress and achievement in each of my team members. One of my most memorable and gratifying experiences happened when I first handled my new team as a manager. I found that the culture was a depressed one as no one thought they could reach their targets. I worked hard to boost their self confidence and help them to work on their personal behaviors and beliefs. In a very short time, the unmotivated culture of my team really dissipated and they became some of the top performers within Priority Banking.
