Biography
Dr. Vinod Abraham is a renowned Urologist who brings in more than 16 years of experience in Urology. He has completed his MBBS, MS (Gen Surgery) and MCh (Urology) from Christian Medical College, Vellore. He worked as Assistant Professor and Head of Urology at SVIMS, Thirupathi and a further 3 year period was spent at Christian Fellowship Hospital, Rajnandgaon, Chattisgarh, working as Deputy Medical Superintendent and pioneering urological services in the region. He was working as Independent Consultant in Urology at University Hospital of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust, Stockton, United Kingdom, for 4 years carrying out various laparoscopic and endourological surgeries. He was trained in basic laparoscopy from University of Dundee, United Kingdom and went on to study higher laparoscopy training from Hamburg, Germany and Erasmus Medical Centre, Holland. He was specifically trained and independently carried out PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy) and RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery), while in the UK. His area of interest is Minimally Invasive Surgery (Ablative and Reconstructive Laparoscopic procedures) and Renal Transplantation. He has pioneered renal transplantation programme at Sunrise Hospital, Kochi, India.
