Biography
Dr. Archdeacon has worked in a range of education-related roles, from teaching English at both secondary and university levels to working for the UK Government on the English National Curriculum and its assessment in schools. His academic background is in renaissance literature and ideas, and he has continued to publish in this area. He has also taught theory of curriculum, assessment and learning at Master’s level for a number of years, both in the UK and to teachers in the UAE. He has published a book on the impact of ICT on English teaching and remains interested in pedagogy and new technologies, but his current research focus is early modern literature and ideas. He is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
