Biography
Dr. Young-Ji Byon was born in 1979 in Seoul, South Korea and moved to Toronto, Canada in 1994. He received his BASc (2003) degree from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada; and MASc (2005), and PhD (2011) degrees from the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada, specializing in Transportation Engineering. From 2003 to 2009, he worked as a researcher in the ITS lab at the University of Toronto. From 2009 to 2010, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Chile, Santiago, Chile. From 2010 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Calgary, Canada. He is currently an Associate Chair in the Department of Civil Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering at the Khalifa University of Science Technology and Research, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
