Chief Geophysicist (b. 1952) Phil Fontan

Biography

Phil has more than 35 years of experience in the seismic industry. Prior to joining Polarcus in 2008 he held senior technical management positions in the geosciences organizations of Western Geophysical, Veritas, and CGGVeritas, He has worked on projects and with clients in all three of the main operational regions of the world. From 1998 until 2006, Phil was a joint instructor for the SEG continuing education course “Planning and Executing a Marine 3-D Seismic Survey”. Phil holds a BS degree in Geology and a MS degree in Geophysics, both from the University of Connecticut.
