Biography
His Excellency Ali Shareef Al Emadi is the Minister of Finance for the State of Qatar. He was appointed to the role, in June 2013. H.E. Al Emadi is a member of the Board of Governors of Sidra Medical and Research Center and Chairman of the Finance Committee. H.E. Al Emadi is also a Board Member of Qatar Foundation. H.E. Al Emadi has several prominent high-ranking roles in Qatar including that of Secretary General and Member of the Supreme Council of Economic Affairs and Investment. H.E. Al Emadi is the Chairman of the Board of several prestigious organizations such as Qatar National Bank, and Qatari Diar. He is the President of the Executive Board of Qatar Airways and also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Telecom (Ooredoo). Other board memberships include that of Governor at the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development; Governor of the Islamic Development Bank and Governor at the OPEC Fund for International Development. He is a member of the board for Qatar Investment Authority, where he also chairs the Investment Committee. He is also member of the board of directors of Qatar Petroleum and Industries Qatar.
