Michael Leroy

Biography

Michael LeRoy is the Chief Information Officer of Sidra Medical and Research Center. He joined the organization in January 2013. In his capacity as the CIO of Sidra, Mr. LeRoy is responsible for leading the planning, design and implementation of the cutting edge integrated medical and information management system that will be key to the functioning of the state-of-the-art medical center. The information systems and technology set to power Sidra will be the most sophisticated and advanced in the world and will be vital for the organization’s achievement of its mission to deliver truly patient-centric care to women and children in Qatar and the region. With over 25 years of experience as an information technology executive and a strong track record within the field of academic health care, Mr. LeRoy is exceptionally well qualified to lead this vital part of Sidra’s development. Mr. LeRoy joins Sidra from the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), Michigan, U.S. DMC is an academic health delivery system comprising eight integrated acute care hospitals and over 100 specialty clinics, including the first all children’s and all women’s hospitals in the state. It is affiliated with Wayne State University Medical School, the third largest medical campus in the U.S. DMC has consistently ranked as the “Most Connected Hospital System” in Michigan. During nine years at DMC, Mr. LeRoy led and directed all aspects of the organization’s information technology systems. He was responsible for the successful delivery of several major initiatives and oversaw 12 professionals directly and 203 indirectly and was responsible for a budget of $98 million.
