Biography
Ghulam Mujtaba Mian is an associate professor of finance at Zayed University. Before moving to Zayed University in 2015, he worked as an associate professor (with tenure) at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an assistant professor at National University of Singapore. He obtained his PhD in 1999 from Australian Graduate School of Business (the graduate school of both University of Sydney and University of New South Wales at the time). His research focuses on issues related to stock market and behavioral finance. He has published his work across a range of journals including Journal of Financial Economics, The Accounting Review, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Journal of Financial Markets. Some of his work has also been quoted by industry publications such as CFA Digest and presented at the Annual Meetings of the American Finance Association. He is a regular reviewer for finance and accounting journals. Dr. Mujtaba has taught finance-related courses to a wide range of groups including senior corporate executives, civil servants, and students enrolled in BBA, MBA, DBA and PhD programs across Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and UAE. He won the school-level Teaching Excellence Award and the department-level Outstanding Teacher Award while at National University of Singapore.
