Biography
Dr Scott combines two significant job roles within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. He is Clinical Lead for the Haematopathology & Oncology Diagnostic Service (HODS) and Director of the Cambridge Cellular Therapy Laboratory. He is also the Trust’s Lead Scientist and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Cambridge. Dr Scott has worked within the Haematology field for 35 years, the past 18 years as a Consultant Clinical Scientist. His PhD thesis was in the field of bone marrow stem cell biology and he has co-authored more than 80 scientific publications. He has had a longstanding interest in education and training and established the original Clinical Scientist training programme in haematology in the UK. He is a Council member of Council at the Royal College of Pathologists, chairs the Clinical Scientist Committee at the College and is a member of the CSO Leadership, Innovation and Advisory Group.
