Biography
Steve has spent over 25 years at the front-end of technology innovation and optimising products for market needs across diverse sectors including telecoms, health, FMCG, industrial, automotive and defence. Steve built expertise in developing electronic and software products before embarking on 20 years at PA Consulting Group where he gained a unique combination of technology and business consulting skills. He uses that combination to help clients to understand new emerging technologies and to build them into innovative products and strategic business models. He takes a holistic view of new products to make sure they are right for a business. He supports the whole development lifecycle from specification to manufacture and launch; on the commercial side, he considers the costs, product-versus-service models, IP commercialisation and the impacts on business models and roadmaps. He has developed leading edge products and prototypes and led large multi-disciplined teams on projects for clients across Europe, USA and Japan. He mentors and advises start-ups and SMEs in areas of technology and business strategy at The Ingenuity Lab, Nottingham, on the IoTUK Boost programme and, in the past, at Wayra in London. Steve is an expert in wireless connectivity and the Internet-of-Things.
