Biography
Professor Stuart is Professor of Cancer Studies within the School of Medical Sciences. He qualified at Southampton Medical School and trained in Medical Oncology in Birmingham and Oxford. Appointed as an NHS Consultant in Medical Oncology in Bangor (1993) he started the cancer clinical trials program in the hospital and helped to establish the Wales Cancer Trials Network (WCTN) which became the model for similar networks across the UK. His clinical interests are in gynaecological malignancy (particularly ovarian cancer), urological cancers and carcinoma of unknown primary.
Research Interest
Professor Stuart’s current research interests include: Phase II and III clinical trials of cancer chemotherapy Study of mechanisms of fatigue due to cancer treatments and effects of physical activity in overcoming these Psychological effects of cancer and benefits of mindfulness in treating depression
