Biography
I graduated with a Bachelor degree in Archaeology and History from Leipzig University in Germany. My dissertation dealt with the influence of historical materialism on exhibitions about prehistory in the former GDR, and was awarded distinction. In 2010, I moved to Gothenburg, Sweden, where I completed a Master degree in International Museum Studies with a dissertation on national history museums and how they engage with the concept of nationalism. Since 2012, I have been pursuing a PhD in German Studies at Bangor University under the supervision of Dr Anna Saunders and Dr Linda Shortt (Warwick University). I am currently writing up my thesis on the representation of everyday life in former East Germany in contemporary German films and museums.
