"Robert Oswald was born in Stamsried (Cham county, Bavarian forest), Germany in 1955 and trained as a chemical lab technician at BASF AG (since January 14, 2008 BASF SE) from 1971 to 1975. From 1978 to 1993, he worked in the crop protection production department, in the area of product and process development for herbicides, fungicides, and special products. Since 1993, Oswald has been a full-time member of the Works Council at the Ludwigshafen site, from April 2000 to June 2016 Chairman of the Works Council of BASF AG (since 2008 BASF SE) and from June 2002 to April 2017 Chairman of BASF’s Joint Works Council. Oswald has been a member of the BASF Supervisory Board since October 1, 2000."
