Biography
Dr Richard Hayward, is currently working as Senior Lecturer in Cellular Microbiology in Birkbeck University of London. Dr Richard Hayward mainly focuses on molecular cell biology of bacterial pathogenesis using a combination of biochemical, cell biology and imaging approaches. In particular we study the obligate intracellular bacterial pathogen Chlamydia trachomatis, the principal cause of sexually transmitted disease and infertility in the Western world and preventable blindness (trachoma) in developing nations
