Biography
Robert gained his first degree in 1976 at the School of Social Sciences in the University of Bradford, where he also carried out research into public housing policy for his postgraduate degree, awarded in 1981. After a brief period as an administrator in the Registrar's Department at the University of Salford he embarked on further research and teaching. He has held research posts at the Centre for Studies in Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Leeds and also at the Bradford School of Management. He has lectured at Leeds Metropolitan University and Trinity and All Saints University College, Leeds, and was a tutor for the Joint Board for Engineering Management. He carries out project work for the Diocese of Leeds in relation to the planning of school places and school reorganisations. He is a member of the Children and Young People's Services Scrutiny Panel of Calderdale Council and a member of the governing body at St Catherine's High School, Halifax and of the Leeds Admissions Forum.
