Biography
Sian is a physiotherapy lecturer delivering teaching related to musculoskeletal physiotherapy and research methods. She is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist and continues to work clinically as an Extended Scope Practitioner at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London. Sian’s research interests focus on the management of lower quadrant musculoskeletal conditions. She has a specific interest in lower limb biomechanics, the influence of footwear on musculoskeletal conditions, and conditions of the foot and ankle. Sian completed her PhD in 2013 (King’s College London) investigating the effectiveness of rocker-sole shoes in the management of chronic low back pain.
Research Interest
The effectiveness of management approaches for lower quadrant musculoskeletal conditions. Specific areas of interest include low back pain, lower limb biomechanics, musculoskeletal conditions of the foot and ankle, footwear.
