Biography
Leanne joined the Department of Applied Psychology in September 2010. Prior to this she completed her PhD at Loughborough University. Leanne’s teaching interests are focused on critical social psychology, developmental psychology, qualitative research methods and media psychology. In addition Leanne also supervises undergraduate students and postgraduate students (on the Health Psychology MSc, Forensic Psychology MSc and Masters in Research Methods degrees). Leanne completed her PgCTHE in 2012 and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Leanne’s research interests are closely aligned to her teaching and include: gender, risk, childhood, parenting, emotion, and media; she has also written a textbook regarding the development of gender: ‘Gender’ (published by Palgrave in 2012).
