Biography

For over seven years, Rama Sinha held the position of Business Manager for Champion’s Houston automation office. In his current role as Automation Manager, Rama directs and evaluates Houston automation employees, plans for resource needs, monitors quality standards and overall profitability for the organization’s projects, and develops and maintains customer relationships throughout southern and central Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. At Champion, Rama has led several extensive projects for the Houston automation office including the implementation of new PLCs and operator stations for an oil recycling facility and a complete filter controls upgrade for a City of Corpus Christi water treatment plant. Under Rama’s direction, the Houston automation office also completed a comprehensive upgrade for an offshore barite mixing and transportation PLC control system. Before joining the Champion team, Rama worked 11 years for Rockwell Automation. As an Automation and Solutions Sales Consultant for the company, he exceeded annual sales goals by 200% and developed and managed a four million dollar business sales plan. Prior to Rockwell Automation, Rama also spent six years as a Controls Engineer for Reliance Electric Company and two years as a Systems Engineer for Siemens Energy and Automation.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Rama is a member of the International Society of Automation and the National Fire Protection Agency. Rama has presented at several automation conferences including Siemens Oil and Gas Summit and Siemens Automation Summit on topics including “Siemens S7-300 Automates Reaction and Blending for the Production of Surfactant Lubricants that Help Oil Rigs Drill Deep” and “S7-400H and Comfort Panels Supply the Perfect Distributed Architecture for a Drill Rig Mud Mixing and Bulk Handling System.” Rama is enthusiastic about all electronics and gadgets, and in his free time enjoys continually improving his home theatre system.
