Biography
"Dr Lorna Rixon is a health psychology specialist working in Health Services Research who re-joined Professor Stanton Newman and is research group in October 2009. She worked in the area of self-management for chronic illness, and as a smoking cessation advisor and later took on a post at Guy's Hospital looking at return to work and recovery from cancer. She completed her PhD at King's College London and gained chartered status in Health Psychology at University College London. Lorna's background is in health psychology. She completed her training in Health Psychology at University College London, and was awarded her PhD from King's College London. Her doctoral thesis examined the role of illness perceptions and mood in recovery from cancer. She currently works on the Whole Systems Demonstrator programme as a Research Fellow with Professor Stanton Newman and his team at City University London to investigate the role of assistive technologies for chronic disease management."
