Biography
"In 2015, Ashish was awarded an EPSRC first grant proposal in the topic of “Active Living Envelopes “ALIVE”. Ashish’s research experience is in building engineering physics, energy management, energy generating building envelopes and solar thermal engineering. He completed his PhD in building physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (ITT Delhi), investigated the heating and cooling potential of passive technologies for buildings, including extensive experimentation and modelling techniques. Ashish was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, in the Department of Architecture working on two projects: low exergy ventilation systems; and shallow geothermal ground energy use. Subsequently, he has a range of funded projects that include EPSRC, TSB (now Innovate UK), Welsh Assembly Government, Low Carbon Research Institute, E.On, De Montfort University, Tata Steel and Cardiff University. With more than 30 research papers in journals and at international conferences, Ashish also is a reviewer for 6 journals in the field of sustainable energy. He has supervised MSc dissertations in low carbon technology solutions for the built environment, and a PhD on phase change material energy for free heating/cooling of buildings. If you are looking for partners in the mentioned research fields for H2020, RCUK or Innovate UK please contact Dr. Ashish Shukla. Also, applicants for PhD, MCIFs, exchange programmes are most welcome to send a query."
