Biography
Dr Subhasisa Nath joined as a Research Associate at the Faculty Research Centre for Manufacturing and Materials Engineering at the Coventry University in March 2017. Dr Nath has been associated in the field of laser material processing and plasma material processing for over 7 years. He obtained his PhD in multilayer and functionally graded thermal barrier coatings from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India in 2015. He then joined as a Researcher at the University of Chester, UK and worked there over a year. He has experience in tribology and corrosion testing of coatings. His interest lies in extracting material information at atomic level using X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. His current research is focused on severe plastic deformation of materials using laser shock peening.
Research Interest
Laser shock peening, Thermal spray coating, Laser cladding, Laser surface melting, Electron microscopy
