Biography
Stephen has led the Deloitte Center for Strategic Leadership based in London since 2010 He personally supports CEO’s and executive teams of some of the firm’s largest clients worldwide in developing the conditions for their leadership success and their succession. Prior to Deloitte, Stephen was Global Managing Partner of the Leadership Advisory arm of Heidrick & Struggles, a NASDAQ listed executive search and consulting firm. Here he led services in succession planning, executive development, board development and the engagement and alignment of talent across organisations. Stephen was appointed to this London based global role having been Regional Managing Partner in Asia Pacific for the practice where he had served clients for 12 years. Having completed his MBA in 1996 Stephen conducted further studies in the assessment and development of leadership cultures in organisations as well as the design of a due diligence process to better determine Leadership Risk in top teams and CEOs. Prior to his current career, Stephen served 10 years as an officer and a pilot in the British Army. Stephen is a regular contributor to the World Economic Forum regionally and at Davos where he is faculty on the Global Fellows Leadership program and advises on the Global Talent Mobility initiative. He co-authored the book ‘Redefining Leadership’ looking at western management experiences faced in adapting to Asian markets.
