Dillard Victor

Biography

Victor is a chemical engineer with broad experience across multiple sectors, including microfinance, oil and gas, cosmetics and FMCG. He completed an MPhil in bioscience enterprise at the University of Cambridge before setting his mind to the world of biotech with the mission of applying fundamental engineering principles to life sciences research. After gaining unique exposure to cutting edge technology and venture creation at Flagship Ventures in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Victor founded Desktop Genetics to enable the digital DNA revolution taking place across the industry. Victor heads the company’s operations, finances and commercial activities at Desktop Genetics. He wears many hats as he connects and integrates all parts of the business around products and technology. What gets Victor to jump out of bed every morning is the thought of another day acquiring more knowledge in science, technology and business, and applying this knowledge to improve scientific research. He enjoys promoting entrepreneurship in schools and universities and is an avid backcountry skier, searching for fresh snow in all four corners of the globe.
