Biography
After completing my BA in English/Secondary Education at Biola University I went on to earn an MA degree in Classroom Instruction from Biola and another in Spiritual Formation from Talbot School of Theology. My MA project for Classroom Instruction was on the integration of creative writing into the public high school English curriculum and my MA thesis in Spiritual Formation was on spiritual formation through story.
Research Interest
My current research project involves looking at JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis’s theories of how fairy stories work on the human heart in the context of its journey toward transformation into the image of Christ, and then reading their fiction to see if that theoretical account is born out in practice, before postulating expansions or revisions to their theories.
