Biography
Laura Lindsey joined the division of Pharmacy in January 2014. She is a lecturer in pharmacy practice and her special interest is in teaching health psychology. Laura is a chartered psychologist with interest in public health research and interdisciplinary working. She graduated with BSc(Hons) in psychology from University of Plymouth in 2003. She worked as a research assistant in the Faculty of Health and Social in Plymouth until starting her PhD in Newcastle University. Whilst at Plymouth she worked on a range of research projects focusing on service delivery and patient experience. Laura gained her PhD from Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University in 2013. For her PhD Laura explored the experience of involvement in a large scale HE-NHS collaboration in the North East. Her thesis was titled “You've got to start messy": an exploration of the process of involvement in a large scale educational collaboration. The focus of the study was on the individuals who formed the collaboration and how their experience reflected the development of the collaborative relationships across different organisations.
Research Interest
Laura’s research interests are around education and practice working together to improve the process of care and patient experience. Laura is interested in the use of qualitative methods and the role they can play to explore ways of improving the patient experience and outcomes and patient involvement in the care process.
