Biography
Isabel is currently a lecturer in palliative care at Edinburgh Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland. She is also the programme leader for the BSc Health Studies programme and Disability role contact in the School of Health and Social Care. Isabel understands the challenges of time management when studying and working full time, having studied most of her adult life while married and raising children. In the years previous to her current role she has worked in various posts within cancer and palliative care including managing a community palliative care unit, cancer information service and as a community nurse specialist. Isabel has worked for Macmillan, Marie Curie and the NHS and has published articles around education in palliative care, palliative day care and bereavement as well as reflection in nursing. She has presented at conferences in the UK and Internationally and conducted research on carer support at end of life. Isabel is a lecturer and Senior Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and would be delighted to receive communication, from professionals who work and live in different countries.
