Biography
Mohamed Eshaftri, is a PhD research student at Edinburgh Napier University in school of computing. He graduated from Tripoli University in 2002, with BSc in computer science; worked at Research Centre and Industrial Development, Tripoli, LIBYA. 4 years’ of Experience in Desktop Support Engineer, Programmer Analyst, and Database Programmer. He achieved MSc in information technology and business from Heriot Watt University in 2010, his PhD research interests in Wireless Visual Sensor Network (WVSN). Wireless visual sensor network is one of emerging technology field which has contributed in many applications, such as industrial control and monitoring, smart home, smart meeting rooms, personal care and the virtual world. In previous years the Traditional imaging systems in many applications used a wired link, centralized network, high processing capabilities, power source and unlimited storage. The wired solution results, a lack of mobility, risk of damage, scalability and maintenance costs. However, a wireless technology is the best choice as it offers less maintenance, infrastructure costs and greater scalability WVSNs is refers to a group of Visual Sensor Nodes (VSNs) can be deployed over a large geographical area. The smart camera has the ability to complete complex vision tasks in limited resources such as small memory, batteries or alternative energy sources and bandwidth requirements.
