Biography

"I am a licensed and a Chartered Forensic Psychologist approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health Professions Council (HPC) and an Associate Fellow of the BPS. I have over 20 years’ experience of working within a variety of community, outpatient and inpatient care settings, including Prisons, Probation, Police and Medium/Low security forensic mental health settings specialising in Forensic Psychology and Criminology. I have experience of providing psychological assessment and therapy to a diverse range of clients with multiple significant psychological difficulties, varying in severity and complexity (depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, emotional difficulties, psychosis, substance misuse). I have sub-specialist skills in the psychological assessment and treatment of adults with ADHD and Personality Disorder. I help people to overcome their life traps with CBT, Schema Therapy and Neurofeedback. I have extensive experience in the assessment, treatment and management of life sentenced prisoners, sex offenders, violent offenders and individuals who present with severe personality disorders and complex mental health difficulties. This has included case formulations and the development of treatment plans. I have designed, delivered and successfully implemented offending behavioural programs in the UK criminal justice system, the Mental Health System and the Community. I carried out research in the area of Offender Profiling in Vancouver, Ca. I am a qualified risk assessment specialist. I use threat assessment tools which incorporate the evaluations of multiple sources of information to corroborate findings. I have served as an expert witness in legal cases instructed by defence solicitors and carried out Psychological Risk Assessment Reports for the Court and Parole Hearings.
