Biography
Nick Medcalf has experience in regenerative medicine development building on a career as a chemist and chemical engineer. He began in 1997 within the joint venture between Advanced Tissue Sciences and Smith & Nephew. Nick’s work involved replacement skin, ligament and cartilage. Nick is singular in the industry as he has experience in quality assurance, process design, regulatory affairs and economic analysis. In 1996 his project team at S&N won the Queen’s Award for Technological Achievement for redevelopment of the process for the advanced wound dressing OpSite IV3000®. He was made Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2011.
