Biography

I am a professional conference and Community interpreter working with Arabic, French and English. I have lectured on Conference Interpreting at Westminster University. I have worked for various diplomatic missions where my duties included all types of diplomatic correspondence, translation, media monitoring, and speech writing. I was the speechwriter for two Doyens of the Diplomatic Corps in London between 1993 and 2005. I joined Westminster University in 2007 as a lecturer, where I continue to lead the International Liaison module and run Discourse workshops. In 2012 I joined the London Academy of Diplomacy, East Anglia University as a senior lecturer, leading the International Liaison and Public Diplomacy module and running Diplomatic correspondence workshops. I am currently leading the Diplomatic Discourse module at the Academy of Diplomacy and International Governance, Loughborough University. I have been involved in Interfaith Dialogue for over a decade, and have delivered public talks on Islam, women and the Arab Spring. I am a fellow of the Academy of Higher Education and a trustee of the Muslim Institute in London
