Biography
I am currently Chair of the Global Internet Governance Academic Network (GigaNet) and have served on the International Communications Section Executive, and as Chair of the Feminist Theory and Gender Studies Section of the International Studies Association, Membership and Program Committees of the Global Internet Governance Academic Network (Giganet). Other responsbilities in the M&C department include convening the Global Media and Transnational Communications MA Program and MA Research Skills and Resources Module, chairing the departmental Learning and Teaching Committee and vice-chairing the departmental Ethics Committee.
Research Interest
My research explores issues arising from the ways in which internet technologies collude and collide with changes in society, culture, and politics. To do so I employ a multi-sited and mixed-method ethnographic approach that draws on critical cultural and social theories, feminism, postcolonialism, and international relations
